Festive holiday relaxation was soon needing to be cast aside by our girls in their first game of 2018 as the newly formed girls from Cleckheaton quickly showed their skills and desire to play in the winter sun.
Cleckheaton demonstrated great rucking and counter rucking as our girls showed too much hesitancy at the break downs, but did provide some solid work in defence. Our girls showed a few glimmers of their team work, good attacking support leading to a great lay-off for a try in the corner, but required a lot of individual hard work and resilience to resit the surge of Cleckheaton.
Over three 15 minute sessions the scores ebbed and flowed, with some wonderful individual scores from both sides attacking from deep.
Both sides a credit to the RFU Core Values.
