Final match of the Season

A home fixture on the final day, sun out and parents cheering. We had three visiting sides and our girls mixed in with all to ensure maximum game time for all girls #Sportsmanship #Core Values

A predominantly Sandal side took on a mixed team of Brods/Hull and Doncaster girls, showing their team cohesion and strength playing down the hill in the first third to score some quick points as the mixed home side adjusted to playing with different players. Some great defence work, crunching tackling from both sides, was combined with some strong individual runs from players on both sides. Strong counter rucking by Sandal provide them with a solid base from which to launch attacks.

The second third, with the hill assisting saw more of the same, but a much more balanced score card as the mixed players developed their understanding of each other, rucking and supporting much improved.

The final third again produced some wonderful defensive work from both sides, with a few occasional war wounds to be managed, but everyone finished the match with smiles and congratulations, Sandal were worthy victors but were certainly in a great and tough final day contest.
