Mr President sez

Brods make the short journey to Uttley next Saturday looking to maintain their current good form with their next Yorkshire league division one fixture and will face Keighley RFC KO 3.00pm.

The Brods boys will be playing on the 3G artificial pitch on which they won the Yorkshire Shield Trophy last April over local rivals Heath and the surface appears to suit their fast flowing game plan.

Success in the Shield followed last years league result at Uttley when they secured victory 13-21 and there followed a win at Woodhead 32-7 making it a double.

Earlier this season Brods took a further victory by a score of 19-7 at Woodhead in this season’s home fixture.

Keighley are not enjoying a good season currently lying in 13th spot in the league with 5 victories on their own pitch and just 1 away from home.

In recent weeks they have played 4 away games on the bounce and their last home appearance was back on the 4th January when they beat Dinnington 22-19. They have had successive losses on the road at Old Crossleyans, West Leeds, Goole and Selby so they will be desperate for victory as they battle against the prospect of relegation.

The Woodhead boys on the other hand are currently 6 points clear at the top of the league and their army of supporters will no doubt be travelling over the hill to support their team.

With important matches coming thick and fast injuries will be monitored carefully and with Phil Town looking doubtful following his shoulder injury on Saturday the coaching team will be following the progress of the Brod’s second team and reserves who pulled off a superb victory themselves last Saturday at Keighley. Brods strength in depth is shining through at the moment with three strong sides being fielded last weekend underlined by the Beavers who topped off a perfect Saturday with their victory at Roundhegians.

All the players are looking forward to the next challenge this weekend .
