This Saturday our Men's 1st XV welcome Goole to Hipperholme. Originally this fixture was meant to be played back on the 4th January however, due to the sub-zero temperatures, a proportion of our pitch was frozen shifting proceedings to this weekend.

Over recent years we’ve had some exciting clashes with Goole and we hope and expect the same on Saturday. Back in September we headed east along the M62 and triumphed 24 – 40 on the reverse fixture. Unfortunately for them, they’ve only salvaged one win so far this season, against Doncaster Phoenix in November.

We'll be hoping to bounce back from Saturday loss against league leaders Rochdale. In conversation this week, our Director of Rugby Neil Sheard had this to say about last week and Saturday's challenge ahead.

"It was a disappointing performance against a very strong Rochdale side who are in a prime spot to go and win the league. We turned over too much ball in attack and weren't physical enough in defence.
This week we face very very talented Goole side who did so well last year and with some bodies back from injury they will be looking to push on to safety. The boys will have to be on it from the start to get a much needed win."
