The Brighouse Boundary Way will take centre stage this August as the Brodstock Active Challenge brings people together for an ambitious day of endurance, fundraising and community celebration in support of Focus4Hope and the Old Brodleians.

Taking place on Sunday 30 August at Old Brods Rugby Club, the event is built around the 30km Brighouse Boundary Way Challenge, a predominantly off-road route following the scenic boundary trail around Brighouse.
Participants can take on the full circuit as an individual run or walk, enter as a team of three with each person completing around 10 kilometres, or push themselves even further by completing two circuits to create an ultramarathon-distance challenge.

Organisers are especially encouraging local businesses, friendship groups and families to get involved in the team challenge, showing that the Brighouse Boundary Way element is not only for experienced runners, but for anyone ready to take on a rewarding shared adventure.

The Brodstock Active Festival, also know as the "Challenge4Hope" has been organised by Focus4Hope, the charity supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship, alongside, the Old Brodleians community rugby club, the main group behind the much-loved June music festival Brodstock. Together, the organisations hope the Brighouse Boundary Way Challenge will provide a powerful focal point for a wider day of participation, fundraising and community spirit.

Alongside the headline challenge, the day has been designed to be accessible and welcoming for all. A 5km Family Fun Run will take place entirely off-road around the grounds of Old Brodleians Rugby Club, with no roads to cross, no traffic to navigate and no pressure to compete.

Cyclists will also be able to take part, with a choice of 70km or 100km circular routes. Riders of all abilities are welcome, although the event is designed as a self-supported challenge, with participants navigating independently from start to finish.

The afternoon programme will add to the community atmosphere with free sporting taster sessions for children, including netball, rounders, American flag football and rugby. The sessions are open to all young people and aim to introduce children to new sports in a fun, inclusive environment.

As the challenges come to an end, participants, families and supporters can relax and celebrate together with a community barbecue and live music into the evening, creating a festival-style finish to the day.

Every entry and donation made through Challenge4Hope will help support the life-changing work of Focus4Hope, which provides practical support for people experiencing homelessness and financial hardship, while also enabling Old Brods to continue their fine work as a leading grassroots sports club.

The organisers hope this will become an annual event, with the Brighouse Boundary Way Challenge at its heart, inspiring people of all ages and abilities to get active, work together and support their community.
