Update on Covid-19 information and our Project90 initiative

Dear members

In light of the latest advice from the government and the RFU we would like to make you aware that there's a number of new additional measures being introduced at the Brods over the coming days for everyone visiting the club.

Please make sure you understand and adhere to everything that our volunteers and staff members are having to enforce in order for us to continue to operate safely and play our part in the whole track and trace process. Those volunteers and staff members include our coaches, team managers, committee members and bar staff.

In addition, as we potentially head into the “second wave”; the Committee is delighted that Bob Sykes has taken up the new role as the club’s Covid Safety Officer. Bob has already been making sure we’re doing everything we should be and he’ll continue to monitor our requirements as they evolve over the coming days and weeks. Our volunteers have done a great job so far keeping up with all the guidance and required actions but it's great to have Bob as a dedicated lead on everything else coming our way. It's a tough role to deliver so let’s please support him in what may be another busy few weeks and months.

For players; more details will be shared individually via the club’s many Whatsapp groups regarding what they MUST do before coming to the club and when they are here.
For anyone else visiting the club and, in particular, the clubhouse I’d like to remind you all to make sure you’re following all our Covid-19 related on-site signage to do with signing in, one way systems, wearing masks and social distancing.

Secondly, I wanted to draw your attention to our Project90 initiative. With everything going on at the moment it’s easy to forget that work is still underway for one of the club’s most ambitious facility improvements.

This past summer, and in our 90th year, the installation of a huge new flat training area began. Despite reduced income streams due to cancelled matches and functions, the club is still on course to complete the improvements in 2021 - something that will benefit all of our playing members.

Project90 is a year-long fundraising campaign to help make these improvements truly outstanding. If successful, Project90 will help ensure the new area has the highest quality playing surface, a new full-size pitch with barriers and pro-standard floodlights. If the whole club pulls together and all of our teams get involved we’ll be in a fantastic place this time next years.

To support the initiative you’ll soon be able to “buy a brick”, buy some limited edition Brods merchandise, make a donation or take part in various raffles or draws.

Supporting Project90 isn’t limited to things that will cost money. By signing up to the Brods #easyfundraising page (by clicking here) you’ll generate a kick-back to the initiative with every purchase. We’ll also get 5% from every sale through the club’s online shop. We’re hoping people will share the social media posts to create more awareness, run fundraisers (raffles, fundraising cards) and maybe even take on sponsored challenges!

To help get the fundraising off to a strong start, the Committee has agreed to commit all 2020/21 membership fees towards Project90.
Please support the initiative where you can and keep an eye out for more details and ways to get involved.

Many thanks and stay safe

Andy
