Brods were licking their wounds on Saturday night, disappointed not only with their performance played in atrocious conditions but to their horror there was no water and no hot showers following a serious burst water pipe on Halifax Road leaving much of the Hipperholme area without any water pressure for four hours. The Scarborough team contacted Heath rugby club in West Vale and jumped on their bus in their muddy kit for a shower and a pint prior to the journey back to their Silver Royd clubhouse and a dinner to celebrate their 90th Anniversary .
This weekend Brods will be hoping for better conditions and look to rediscover their form following a disappointing performance against Scarborough. The Hipperholme club benefitted from several surprise results elsewhere in the league and maintained their fourth position with a game in hand.
The Woodhead boys are still handily placed amongst the contenders however they will need to improve if they wish to compete at this level Selby are not having a great season and Brods have had the Indian sign over them over recent years .
Last year following a postponement the rearranged game resulted in a 26-40 victory for the Brods which gave them the double following a home win 37-5.
Selby are currently sat in 10th position with 20 points earned from 2 home wins, 10-6 over Scarborough on the opening day of the season and more recently Bradford Salem 26-25 plus victory 18-43 away at Acklam.
In their last three games they have lost away at Beverley and North Ribb as well as suffering a home defeat to Keighley .
Our seconds will entertain Selby at home this Saturday and look to return to winning ways following their first league defeat of the season last week against Wharfedale. The Beavers will travel the short distance to Salendine Nook to play Huddersfield YMCA following a break last weekend .
On Sunday the Minis will be travelling to West Park Leeds whilst the Girls will be hosting the District Under 13 festival.
