Reminder for those bringing dogs

Reminder for those bringing dogs

James Ogden10 Oct - 08:18

Our site rules

Unfortunately we have noticed a rise in the amount of dog fouling on and around our pitches.

Therefore we're reminding site visitors that dogs must be kept on leads at all times and dogs must be kept off all training/playing areas.

Even when dog fouling is removed from a sports pitch, remnants will remain on the grass and soil. This is disgusting and has had serious life-changing health consequences to players, up and down the country, in the past.

We know many of our member have dogs and like to bring them to the club when family members/friends are playing here. As a result, we choose not to impose a ban on dogs. However, if the issue persists, it will be something the club considers as the welfare of our players is of paramount importance.

In Wales, dogs are actually banned from all schools, children’s play areas and marked sports pitches maintained by the Council. Many local rugby club's (for example West Park Leeds) also enforce their own bans. Our whole site is private property with no public rights of way across the spaces.

New signage will be getting installed in the coming weeks to reinforce this messaging.
