Brods 65 v Rishworthians 3

Old Brods U 17's began the season with an emphatic 65-3 victory over local rivals Rishworth.Winger Adam Dixon opened the scoring for Brods with an unconverted try in the corner before Rishworth struck back with a long range penalty for their only points of the day .Last seasons top try scorer Chris Vine then got into the action scoring the first of his five tries and a 10-3 lead after 20 minutes play.

Rishworth continued to battle hard and were able to keep the score down to 20-3 at the interval but in the second half as the larger Rishworth pack begin to tire the more mobile Brods forwards and their speedy backs took over full control of the game, constantly switching play from one side of the pitch to the other and scoring 45 points in the process without reply. Man of the match Joe Ashford scored a brace his second from an interception deep inside his own half whilst Adam Dixon bagged a second and Perry Wilson, .Aamir Nasir and Charlie Wood all added to the try count.
