15 u17 players grind out win

Old brods u17---33 v 17---Kirby Lonsdale
Brods travelled to Kirby Lonsdale for the first time, and were rewarded with a tough physical team that took some time to beat. Brods could only muster 15 players for this game as 9 others were injured or unavailable, but the players that did turn up were more than capable of competing.
The game started at a fast pace and defence was strong on both sides, it was only the difference of the brods back line that set up the tries. Tries from Ben Armitage and jasper Aryeton on the wings showed where the brods needed to attack, and this they did with the forwards driving the ball downfield and the backs led by captain chris bell, putting great moves together. It was not long before tyler Nicholson scored another and aryeton scored his second. With bells kicking on target the score was soon in brods favour. With the first half tries being rounded off with will forsyth scoring the brods were in a commanding lead of 33-0.
The second half was a different thing altogether, with brods thinking they had won and Kirby not ready to lie down they came out with vengeance. After the home side made a couple of subs the brods boys started to feel yhe pressure and Kirby scored 17 unanswered points. With the brods loosing a couple of players to injury and finishing the game with 12 players they held out for a great win against a decent outfit. Final score 33-17 and brods breath a sigh of relief.
Well done to all the players that turned up for this game you all played outstanding and although tired at the end I thought it was well worth the visit.
