brods win the cup final

Brods u17--- 27v10--- West Park Leeds. Yorkshire Cup Final.
Brods u17 finally got to the final of the Yorkshire cup after being knocked out at the semi stage for the last 4 seasons. With a full team at their disposal for the first time this season they were in no mood to let this game get away from them. West park started strongly and showed why they where in this years final, with strong running and fierce tackling. Brods had good field position with matt smith and steve scott making good yards. With perfect conditions the brods back line were running great lines with chester butler and liam parfitt working well together. West park had the defence covered though and it was a rolling maul that saw adam roebuck peel off and take the first score.chris bell adding the converstion. West park were in no mood to let this game get away from them and came at the brods with everything, outstanding defence from Isaac cracknel and Ollie firth kept things under control for the brods. After some technical infringement west were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which they duly kicked taking the score to 7-3 . brods reply was to take the ball down field with quick recycling marshalled by sam Jeffrey. The ball was passed out to bell and a great set move saw greg roper go over for the try. Half time score 12-3.
With everything in the balance brods regrouped and now started to show some class. A penalty to brods saw bell kick and the score was 15-3, with frustration in the west park lads showing. Another ball from the lineout set up a maul to see jonny cole going over and bell adding the extras, it seemed west park were losing their grip. With still 20 mins left brods new they could not step off the gas and put real pressure on the west park forwards resulting in a lot of dropped ball. Brods again turned the pressure into points and another set play saw jasper ayreton score in the corner. At this point west park decided to give one last push and were rewarded with a score under the posts to bring the score to 27-10. With a good ten minutes left brods relieved any real threat by kicking downfield and playing west in there own 22. With all the brods lads getting a run out the whistle went and the cup belonged to brods.
A great game played in great conditions by two great teams but it was brods that finished strong and took the spoils this time. A massive crowd of support from the brods spectators was great to see and really spurred the lads on. With one more game left to clinch the league title and the u17 season will be complete and end very successful whatever the outcome.
