Brods u17 win away at Yarnbury

Brods where this week without a league fixture and decided to travel over to yarnbury for a friendly. As always with these games it is hard to predict what will happen. The game kicked off and from the outset yarnbury showed their intent with some great turnovers in the ruck. Brods where a little out of sorts but stuck to the task defending well and making ground up field. Unfortunately yarnbury where first to score, and this seemed to show the brods what the game was about. With great grit and determination yarnbury where a great match for brods, nevertheless brods got the next score from Reagan Hargreaves, George ayrton converting. Brods got a bit of ball now and alex snowball was next on the sheet. Soon after yarnbury scored their own well worked try from their strong centre, this brought the score to 12-12 with half time fast approaching. Brods worked up field with alex Christopher and peter ashton making yards and allowed Oscar mathers in for a try just on half time. 12-17 to brods.
Second half started badly for brods with yarnbury scoring first to take the lead again. This was the start of the brods revival and was to be the last scores for yarnbury. Brods started to click and the tries just flowed, Elliott craven, Tom Wilson, Hargreaves second, cole Wilson and james millington all got over the try line after things started to go right. Some great forwards play followed by strong backs passing and support put brods out of touch with their counterparts. Yarnbury never gave in and fought to the last whistle but when brods got going they looked a different class.
Final score 48-19 to brods. A great game from yarnbury who pushed brods in the first half and made them work for everything. Brods fitness and organisation eventually telling in the later stages of the game.
