Old Brods U17’s V West Park Leeds U 17’s
Old Brods were up for a tough game against West Park and started the game on the uphill with their intent to be the victors! The Brods worked effectively recycling the ball and using the wing , to gain ground up field some great team work shown.Their composure and determination paying off with a great inside pass in the top corner to James Millington who touched down for Brods first try, Tom Wilson converting.
West Park were never going to give Brods an easy time and made them work tirelessly in both attack and defence. With their strong back line eventually allowing them to score and equalise. Brods gaining points from a penalty, by Tom Wilson halftime score to 10-5 in their favour.
The second half kicked off with Brods on the downhill, with the forwards doing well in the scrums allowing them to keep hold of the ball, and a powerful run by Captain Cole Wilson adding to the score line, Tom Wilson converting, 17-5.Brods fitness ensued with a near pitch length try scored by the pacey Conor Pollard, to take them into a comfortable 24-5 lead. However,West Park could not be underestimated though and gained ground with a couple of penalties to take them within 5 metres of Brods try line.Great defence was shown by Brods but eventually West park took the next score to finish the game 24-12.
A great game to watch throughout with both sides showing skill and enthusiasm, but Brods team effort won in the end.
